What Aldevere costs

Research Scholar is $6,500, a Field Seminar $4,500 and Academic Essentials, a custom plan, from $2,000. Each fee covers the whole programme, with no paid add-ons, and is confirmed in writing after the interview, before any payment is requested.

The Fees

One fee per programme, and it covers everything

Fees are in US dollars. Families resident in the UK pay in sterling, with no currency conversion. The interview settles which programme fits; the fee for it is then confirmed in writing.

What Every Fee Covers

The same for every student, in every programme

Whichever programme the interview recommends, the fee includes all of this.

  • Designed before it begins

Every programme is written for the student before the first session: a syllabus, assessment brief and reading bank for a Field Seminar, a reading path and project plan for Research Scholar, and a written plan from the Academic Readiness Review for Academic Essentials.

  • A mentor for the question

Students are matched to a mentor whose work fits their question. If no one in our network fits, we recruit someone who does.

  • An academic adviser alongside the mentor

Every student also has an academic adviser, separate from the mentor, who looks after their progress and wellbeing from start to finish.

  • Parents kept informed

Parents receive the schedule before the first session, progress updates at set points and whenever they ask, and a debrief at the end.

  • A new mentor if the match is not working

If the match is not working, we change the mentor.

  • A written report at the end

Every programme ends with a written report on the student's work, covering strengths, next steps and evidence of growth, and a recommendation for what comes next.

  • Certificates

Each certificate says Completion only when every session was attended and the final work submitted. It carries its own number, and anyone the student shows it to, such as a university, can verify it at aldevere.com/verify with that number and the student's full name.

  • References

Mentors are glad to write a reference for a student who has attended and taken the work seriously.

The student writes every word. Mentors question, teach and give feedback. Our academic integrity policy sets out what that means in practice.

With the family's consent, a referring counsellor is kept informed of the recommendation, the match and the student's progress. How counsellor referrals work.

How Paying Works

Nothing is paid until the programme is in writing

01

Interview first

A short interview, free, with no obligation on either side. We recommend the programme that fits the student, or say so if none does yet.

02

Fee in writing

You receive the recommended programme, its schedule and the fee in writing, so you decide with the full picture in front of you.

03

Pay in full or in two instalments

Payment, or the first instalment, confirms the place. The mentor match is confirmed in writing before the first session.

Questions About Fees

Common questions about cost

How much does Aldevere cost?

Research Scholar is $6,500, a Field Seminar $4,500 and Academic Essentials, a custom plan, from $2,000. Each fee covers the whole programme, with no paid add-ons, and is confirmed in writing after the interview, before any payment is requested.

Is the fee the same for every student?

For Research Scholar and Field Seminars, yes: $6,500 and $4,500, whichever field and whichever mentor. Academic Essentials is a custom plan from $2,000: the Academic Readiness Review sets the plan, and the fee follows it. A scholarship reduces the fee. Nothing adds to it.

Are there any extra costs?

No. The fee covers the whole programme: the design work before the first session, every session, the reading and written work set between sessions and the written feedback on it, the academic adviser, parent updates, and the written report, recommendation and certificate at the end. There are no per-session charges and no paid add-ons to reach the final work.

Which currency do you charge in?

US dollars. Families resident in the UK pay in sterling, with no currency conversion: £5,000 for Research Scholar, £3,500 for a Field Seminar and Academic Essentials from £1,500.

When do I pay?

In full before the first session, or in two instalments at no extra charge: half the fee confirms the place, and the balance is due on the date set in the written offer, no later than the day before the fourth session. Either way, payment is requested only after the family has received and accepted the written programme recommendation and fee. Submitting an enquiry or attending the interview does not create a payment obligation.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes. A full refund is issued if written cancellation reaches us within 72 hours of payment (of the first instalment, when paying in two), provided no session has taken place. After that point fees are non-refundable, with one exception: if a confirmed mentor becomes permanently unavailable and we cannot find a suitable replacement within 21 days, you receive either a session credit or a pro-rated refund for the sessions not yet completed. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

Are scholarships available?

Yes. Scholarships are awarded by the academic team, on nomination, to students whose independent work is outstanding. They are not applied for, and every application is read for one. Placing in the Research Question Prize, which is free to enter, carries its own published awards. A family offered a place who has a question about the fee or the payment schedule is welcome to write to admissions@aldevere.com.

Do you recommend the most expensive programme by default?

No. We do not recommend a more advanced programme if the student is not ready for it. The fee reflects the programme we actually recommend for the student, not a default package. If we think a shorter or less intensive programme is the right fit, that is what we recommend.
